The OSM’s (Montreal Symphonic Orchestra) concert hall project is situated on the East esplanade of the Place des Arts, in Montreal, Canada. For the time being, this space is used as a parking. The Place des Arts combines five theaters and it is the site of two very important festivals in Montreal, the Francopholies and the Festival de Jazz de Montreal. The edifice to be build has for objective to give a new concert hall to the Montreal Symphonic Orchestra, as well as repetition rooms and administration.

Situated in the center of the “Quartier  des Spectacles”, the site is perfect for the construction of the “house of the OSM”. The Place des Arts already has an important place in the touristic circuit of this area and the construction of this building will help the revitalisation undertaken for the past few years in this part of Montreal.

This site is not used by the pedestrians and it is not well used during the festivals either. In Winter, the entire place becames desert. It will be useful to create a space that could be visited and appreciated during the cold season. The links with the subway level are not well planned and so they are not used often.
